Reading  

At St Mary's we adore reading. We read throughout the day and have books from as soon as you arrive in school in the entrances, through to our classrooms and libraries.

Every week we hold a Reading Rave! The class with the most reads that week get to hold a Reading Rave, with disco lights, music and of course, books! We have done this for many years and we still love it. So enjoy your reading, whether it's a newspaper, magazine, comic, your favourite book of the moment, your school book or anything at all, and come down and enjoy the Reading Rave!

We love to read with our community too! Mystery readers are always welcome, volunteers, and we love our family reading sessions and literary festival!

Reading with our community and meeting real life authors makes us very fortunate indeed. We are grateful for every opportunity to learn, grow and move mountains! Our role models reading with us, and authors being in the same room as us, answering our questions lovingly prepared, all inspires us to read, write and maybe even write our own one day!
