Roles and Responsibilities

Click here to see our range of roles and responsibilities for pupils.

School Council

Our School Council is made up of two elected members from each class. The pupils hold class council meetings, where they initially share their ideas with their classmates. They then shortlist their ideas in Class Council and the top three ideas are passed on to the School Council to discuss further.

The School Council meet every other week and work with our headteacher to make these ideas a reality. All meetings are minuted, and these minutes are fed back to each class.

Our children love being School Councillors as they know it is a very important role.

Head Boy and Head Girl

Our head boy, girl and deputies are interviewed and selected in September from Year 6. We are so proud of all of our children, and our heads and deputies have the opportunity to practice public speaking, role modelling to others, and leading their peers as Jesus would want us to. We appoint children for a number of reasons, but the most important one being the way that children develop in confidence. We believe in giving children the opportunity to grow and shine, and have been so proud of how our children have taken those opportunities. We feel  privileged to be part of their journey in doing something that may have been daunting initially, and supporting them to take risks and achieve things we knew they were capable of!

Catholic Social Teaching

Our role in the world and our responsibility to it is central to everything we do. Many of our roles and responsibilities begin with Catholic Social Teaching.

Here are the 7 principles:

1. Dignity

2. Solidarity

3. The common good

4. The option for the poor

5. Peace

6. Creation and environment.

7. The dignity of work and participation

Our Faith calls us to love God and love our neighbours in every situation. We follow in the footsteps of Christ and do anything we can in our roles and responsibilities to create equality, bring peace and fairness, and support EVERYONE near or far.

We look after our school dog, Buddy by walking him, feeding him, filling up his water and Miss Boden does the poop scooping! We train him when we can. He can sit, turn and stay as well as shake a paw - when he's concentrating! Buddy is the friendliest Frenchie and helps with any anxiety, giving us smiles all round. If anyone is nervous around dogs, please don't worry. Buddy is always on lead and with an adult, but usually children get to love him the more they see him.
