A Community Mission

Our St Mary's Mission was created together, through staff, parent and carer, community and of course, children's collaboration.

We have always loved to sing 'Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains'. Children fed back that it was and is one of their favourites in our rich legacy of hymns. As we discussed a new Mission, one of our lovely children took the hymn, and how we had discussed 'moving mountains' in our roles and responsibilities. As this thought grew, it was felt that this sums us up as a family. Our Faith as strong as it is, is from when we are 'seeds' and grows, flourishing and flowering beautifully, supporting others and serving to make a difference to our world, 'moving mountains'.

As adults we learn so much from our children!

We held Mission workshops with parents, Parish, children and staff, staff meetings and retreats for the children. Our words through Growth and Faith (see above) came from those collaborations. Although we want the words to fit, the words are no less significant and we feel those Gospel Values, with our wonder of the opportunities we are so excited to provide and grow, within the Holy Trinity, guide us, shape us, inspire us, and support us as we make our way in this amazing world.

Our crosses were created to represent our Mission by the children during retreats in school. They are very talented, and we are blessed!
